JESUS CHRIST’S RETURN AS HE PROMISED
Jesus will someday reveal Himself on the Mount of Olives. He will get off His white stallion and descend to touch His feet on the earth (Zechariah 14:4). In Acts 1:11, the angel had prophesied, “This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you have seen Him go (ascend) into heaven.” The media will show Jesus’ glorified body gently floating down to the earth below. The sparkles of the divine pure white stallion in the sky above will be spectacular to give Christ’s glorious appearing a wonder above all wonders. The hosts of the heavenly saints will surround Christ and His horse (Revelation 19:11-16; Zec.14:5). The live telecast will show the people of Jerusalem and surrounding areas looking in amazement at the sight of Christ, proclaiming His victory over the powers of darkness to give light to a future everlasting kingdom (vs.6,7).
Christ’s Return to the Mount of Olives: The Bible tells us clearly what will happen when Jesus’s feet touch the Mount of Olives, just east of the capital city of Jerusalem. Zechariah 14:4 states that an earthquake will have a magnitude of power to split the Mount. A valley of escape will open-up from east and west. As the earthquake happens, people will panic. Lives will be lost. Some will be buried alive in the debris and landslides. The magnitude of this earthquake would never have been experienced before in this location. This mighty tremor is the very last of its kind from the period of seven years of “Tribulation.” The earthquake is a fulfillment of prophecy at the start of the Millennial Kingdom (Zechariah 14:5).
In Ezekiel 47:1-12, we find that later this valley will have a spring of water bubble up to flow east and west. The stream of water will come from the holy sanctuary and will divide in two separate directions. One stream will flow to the east down to the Jordan River, ending up in the Dead Sea. Then the other will have a simultaneous descent to the west to the Mediterranean Sea (Zechariah 14:8). These events surely will be marvelous to watch and experience at the beginning of Christ’s Kingdom. In a later chapter, we will discuss the matter of the valley, and the river flow of healing.
Perhaps, during the earthquake, the white stallion will come down to pick up the Lord Jesus and take Him away from the dangers of the fallout of the earthquake. There will be judgments pending to establish His reign in Zion (Isaiah 9:7). Then with some speculation, Jesus will be whisked away on His white horse again to prepare Himself as the Bridegroom ready for His Bride to be announced to the world.
Christ, the true Bridegroom: It is essential to give reliable sources and Biblical background to the whole matter of Christ Jesus, our Lord as the Lamb of God “who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). It was John the Baptist who verbally expressed this concept of Jesus becoming the atoning sacrifice, as “the Lamb of God.” His prelude to the ministry of Christ Jesus paved the way for future revelations of God’s plan for the ages. Jesus would be (and was) crucified for all sinners. Whoever believes in Him is reconciled back to God. John foretold that the Savior and Lamb of God “must increase, but I (John) must decrease” in popularity (John 3:30). Are we giving due honor and glory to Jesus as the Lamb of God for our salvation?
Jesus Himself said that John the Baptist was the greatest of the prophets (Luke 7:28). John was a cousin and a friend of Jesus. He also proclaimed a future Bridegroom and Bride concept with Christ. John stood and rejoiced to hear the Bridegroom’s voice: “He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s (Jesus’) voice. Therefore, this joy of mine is fulfilled” (John 3:29). He felt the prediction in his spirit. There will come a day when this will be fulfilled. Do you have a fulfilling “joy” that Christ is your Savior and Bridegroom who will come for you? I hope you get the thrill and are eager to see the Lord Jesus coming as King.JESUS CHRIST’S RETURN AS HE PROMISED
