GLORIOUS HEAD
Oh, head that once graced Mary’s arms,
grew in knowledge and in wisdom,
looked with care upon the lost, and
saw their needs to heal them.
Oh, head that spoke the ways of life,
beatitudes to free from strife,
and miracles displayed His might;
His passion was our freedom.
Oh, head then crowned with mocking thorns,
seemed in defeat when lifted.
Upon that cross our vict’ry won
When He gave up His spirit.
Oh, head now resurrected high,
You still walk near, Your spirit nigh,
Your body now still walks the earth;
You are the head of the true church.
And we will by Your head arise,
now reconciled to glorify.
Through all the days and then beyond,
our heads will bow ’neath heaven’s skies.

long for our embrace.

About the Author
Rob Smith has always loved matching thoughts with words, but life carried him away to seek a career in the US Navy, shipbuilding, and financial planning. His greatest blessing is a saving relationship with the Lord. He has traveled through adulthood with wife, Shirley, and they have shared the joy of raising three wonderful daughters and now cherish the “dessert” of nine grandchildren.
