There’s nothing I could give you you don’t already have and you’re not afraid to make that known. And there is absolutely nothing more charming than a woman works for her own thing. It challenges me to offer you something more, to make me more relevant in your life.”
I simpered, no man has ever told me that before. Some belittle me because they thought I was “too” independent as if that was an actual thing. They called me harsh words for standing on my own two feet. But to hear this beautiful man in front of me talk about what he loves about me with the brightest smile on his face and with fervor filled eyes. How could I not be attracted to him?
Still, I must keep on his toes. “I want you? You’re sure of yourself Mr. Ode.”
He smiled gently and took a sip of his wine. “Maybe it’s just wishful thinking. Maybe I just hope that you like me as much as I like you.”
I tried to hold in a smile as I stared him down. He will not quit.
“So, my pursuer when’s our next date?”

She moved to the United States at the age of seven and had a hard time adjusting to the new culture, but she developed friends through the books that she read.
