Week Forty-One It Came To Me At Midnight!
GOD SENT A RAINBOW
I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. Genesis 9:13-15
This is the Hour of: MULTIPLICATION
This is the Day of: PRAISE
In 2014, right before Christmas, my husband and I were victims of a scam by persons who claimed to be of the same religious belief and they also claimed to be part of the clergy of bishops we are acquainted with. They took us for thousands of dollars in which the money was to help someone whose car was broken down on the highway. Well the money never came, nor did things happen the way they said. Because of this incident, when I realized we were victims of a scam, my heart fell to my feet, I had a loss of appetite, did not want to be bothered with anyone nor was I pleasant to be around. Tears became part of my appearance. I simply did not know what to do. I had to pray. My back now was up against a brick wall. I prayed and prayed, and I prayed for an answer. None came and I was devastated.
That weekend while driving south on the interstate, I crossed over the Kansas River and to my surprise, there was the largest and most beautiful rainbow emerging. I knew then that God sent the rainbow as a comfort. (It had not rained the night before nor was it currently raining.)
God calmed me down by giving me consolation with these words:
God Sent Me A Rainbow
When I thought that things could not get any worse
When I thought I was doing just fine,
A test came along, knocked me to my knees,
All I could do is look to God and cry.
Lord, why me? What have I done?
That caused this race so hard to run.
You know I love you from the bottom of my heart.
Lord, please give me a word.
God sent a Rainbow! A rainbow to me.
God sent a Rainbow! A rainbow to me.
I felt His presence come over me,
Saying, My child, I’m here for you.
Don’t you worry, don’t you fret, I Am here just for you,
The rainbow in the sky, was sent to encourage you.
Don’t you worry, don’t you fret, I Am here just for you,
The Rainbow in the sky, let’s you know I’ll be by your side.
The devil thought he had me down,
But God said, no. My child look up,
I sent you a rainbow, a rainbow, a rainbow,
All because I love you.
These same people have tried to scam us again and again, but because I was aware of their tactics, I was able to refuse their request.
In Noah’s day, the sin of the people had grown so rapid until it began to stink in God’s nostrils. His plan was to destroy man whom he had made because of the evil within their heart. God told Noah to build an ark and take his family and two of each animal into the ark before he caused it to rain. God caused a flood of waters to overshadow the earth and it killed all mankind except the eight people in the Ark along with the animals.
At the end of the flood, God dried up the waters and gave Noah a token that he would not destroy the earth again with water. The token was a rainbow. God said, each time you see a rainbow, let it be a reminder that I will not destroy the earth with water.
We should always rejoice that the rainbow lets us know that God’s covenant is still in force and is just as potent today as in Noah’s day; it will never decrease in value; it will never diminish; nor will it become obsolete.
Let God send you a rainbow. He will!
My Personal Prayer of Commitment:
I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. Psalm 3:4
