The bell ring, it’s 3:15. “Gather your belonging students, and let’s head outside for dismissal.” Said Mrs. Harman. I am so ready to go outside under the tree and see my grannie, said LaKisha.
Jeremiah, Zachary, Corry, Jennifer, Luetisha, and LaKisha all ran under the tree to greet their grandmother. “Hello Madea!” said the children in unison. Hey! How was your day at school? Good! The children replied.

About the Book
Grandma's House is a book that was inspired by LaKisha’s childhood. It was her fourth grade students that encouraged her to put the pen to the paper and create, “Grandma’s House.” Creating this short story was also a way for LaKisha pay homage to her late grandmother Estella ( Madea). In this book, LaKisha is able to relive her childhood, and fondest memories about her family, being picked up from school by her grandmother, and family dinner.
About the Author
LaKisha was born and raised in Memphis TN. LaKisha is an educator who started working with children at the age of sixteen. With 20+ years of experience working with children, LaKisha decided to go for it, and become a children’s author. From child care, all the way up to grade school; LaKisha has experience in each area. She is also the mother of one loving son, London.
