About the Book

Z the Zebra is a story about a zebra who is born with no stripes but with rainbow polka dots that light up different colors depending on his mood. He is not sure that he likes being different and is searching for a purpose for these unique polka dots and a reason why God created him this way. He finds he can be a bright light in his community and help to his family and friends when the world goes dark or a light is needed. We can all choose to be a light in this world, use whatever gifts you have been given. Let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16

About the Author

Lynette Koch was born on February 18th in Stanley, North Dakota. She was raised by her wonderful parents and is one of six children. Her early years were spent growing up in the small town of Tioga, North Dakota. As a child, you may have found her playing with friends, dressing up one of her rabbits, or her beagle named Penny. She also had a horse named Tidy that she enjoyed riding. When Lynette was a teenager, her family moved to Bismarck, North Dakota. Having a love for music, she was involved in school & church choir growing up, and also plays the piano.

In 1980, she met and married the love of her life, Pat. Together they have raised 3 children, two of which are married and have blessed them with 5 grandchildren. Her grandchildren refer to her as “GiGi” and she loves every moment she gets to spend with her family. During the winter months when she is not at her home in Bismarck, ND, you will find her enjoying the sunshine in Mesa, Arizona. She likes to spend most of her weekends during the summer with her family at their lake cabin. Lynette loves to sneak in coffee dates with her mother and friends when she gets the chance.

She has had many great joys in her life along with difficult times. She has had a lifetime of health issues, along with the loss of several family members, friends and suffered a miscarriage. These difficult times took her on a search for peace and comfort. It was through these trials that she came to have a deep personal relationship with her Savior, Jesus. She has placed her faith in him and knows that he is directing her life and its path. Her desire to share his love in this world has been the inspiration behind her writing. Her hope is that each person will open their heart to Him and we all find our feet on the narrow path that leads us to heaven.
