Problems come to all of us at times. And often we see friends going through hard times and we suffer for them too. It is a part of life here on earth.
But sometimes we need to be reminded of God's promises in Genesis 8:22. It tells us God has promised the seasons will always come and go. And that means, after the cold and dreary winter, spring will come again. when we know this there can be joy in our hearts even when the clouds of trouble are there.
This Day Was Made For Joy
This day was made for joy;
this golden day
with birds singing and flowers blooming
along the way.
To laugh, to love, to sing,
is easy now.
For all is well and peace is mine;
life is a sunshine ray.
This day was made for joy;
this barren day
with troubles coming and gray skies looming
even as I pray.
To love, to smile, to sing,
is harder now.
For I am sad, and there's no peace;
no will to laugh or play.
But like every other day
this day was made for joy;

About the Author
Kansas artist Ruby Tobey expresses her faith by writing poems (scribbles) and making drawings (sketches) of scenes around her.
While their three children were growing up the Tobey family traveled many miles in an old school bus camper. Their outdoor adventures gave Ruby time to make many sketches. Some of them she used in publishing a yearly calendar. Now many of them are included in this book and a previous volume of Scribbles and Sketches.
