Post 65
Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen. The scripture this week came to me around Wednesday very settling in my mind were the words "as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he"(Pro 23:7a) I didn't get around to looking it up till early this morning, but in the context it is actually a little different from what I thought. Feel free to look it up at your leisure chapter 23 verse 7a. Nevertheless, if we think about this scripture it has a lot of potential to influence a man's life. I'll record then give brief commentary.
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. 23:7a
There is another scripture that says, "keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it flows the Issues of life"(Pro 4:23).
But who are we really, inside, are we Kings and Priests and Prophets as suggested by the Revelator John? Are we angels and cherubs, or are we Devils, and Demons? Are we God clothed with flesh, for again I say; He has said, "Lo, I come in the volume of the book; a body thou hast prepared for me"(Psa. 40:7) (Heb. 10:5)
Many of us may be familiar with the principle of self-actualization; the psychological concept of visualizing who it is we want to be. I think the way it is discussed here there is a two layer principal at play, the first being the spiritual or moral aspect, the second being the social or social-economic aspect. So, we can be Angelic doctors of divinity, or medicine or juris-prudence, or economics and/or we could be devilish Rock stars, Playboys, Bulls and Wolfs of Wall Street, Hustlers, and Prostitutes, or anything in between. Have you ever met and Angelic prostitute, or a devilish lawyer? Anyway, such are the ramblings of my mind this morning. But in all seriousness, if we think about the scripture, "as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he,” (Pro 23:7a) what is the highest, or best, or most realistic, person or being, or life you can think or visualize for yourself.
Christ has said, "Ye are gods"(Jhn. 10:34) quoting from Psalms 82, but the Psalms also says, "they shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes,” (Psalm 82:7) Check out the scripture in its entirety to see our roles and responsibilities given for being children of the Most High.
Hope this helped in some way. God Bless everybody and have a Great rest of the weekend!!

Chapter 2
Greetings everyone; well another word that can inspire us and reveal a sacred mystery about our divine nature. The text comes from the gospel of St. John, out of the four gospels in the New Testament, John’s testimony is considered to be the most philosophical. He was the youngest disciple and part of Christ’s inner circle along with Peter and James. John was considered the one whom Christ loved. I can only imagine the private conversations that John and Christ had, and what spiritual knowledge he was made privy to for being close friends with Christ. I’ll record the meat of the text, and that will be the focus: St. John chp. 1 v. 1-3; 10-13.
In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him: and without him was not anything made that was made.
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to him gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory the glory of the only begotten of the father full of grace and truth. St. John. 1 v. 1-3; 10-13
Alright, so here we have sacred words of truth with the ability to change our lives and the way we perceive ourselves, others, and the world around us. Why? Because first off we find that, In the beginning was the “Word,” or in the Greek, the “logos,” which is the “thought” or something said; it implies reasoning, mental faculty, motive and computation. One can only think of the Genesis account of Creation where the scripture says,
In the beginning, God created the Heaven and earth, and the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the ace of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said,” let there be light, and there was light. (Gen1:1-3)”
So, at the logos of God, there was creation enacted. This gives rise or support to some intelligent design. Further, while others seek proof of Creation and the beginning; Evolution and the “Big Bang Theory” go against one of the fundamental and universal principles of physics; Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy, and Geology being a few ways Scientist understand the Universe. That is, the principle that says, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Creation without intelligent design; action without some external equal and opposite catalyzing force is impossible according to the very mechanics used to understand these things. Even when considering the law of momentum, there is an initial force involved. How do we get effect without cause? Things did not just spontaneously combust and develop into the complexity of the single brain nerve, and the inner depths of the human mind, intelligence and emotion from gasses? There had to be an intelligent mind, being, or Power behind it all; hence God.
Ok, getting back to the main point, the scripture says the Word or Logos was made flesh and dwelt among us, as the only begotten of the Father…: The thought of God, became incarnate in human flesh, what are the implications of this, the scripture says, “Lo, I come in the volume of the book, a body thou hast prepared for me” (Psalms 40:7)(Heb10:5). God’s seed in the hearts of man. Listen further to what this implies to us who believe. It says, “He came to his own (the Jews of that day), but they received him not” (had him crucified)—But as many as received him, gave them the power or “exousia,” that is ability to become the sons of God. “Who were not born by the flesh, nor of blood, nor by man, but of God.”
This indicates spiritual rebirth, unlike the natural birth, but much like natural birth; the inception starts with a seed of God that develops into full grow divine being on feed from the meat, milk, and water of the Word. In the natural, the mans seed consist of 23 chromosomes of deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA, which is thought to carry genes of our phenotype, body make up, eye color, height, predisposition to illnesses and disorders. How much more if God said, let us make man in our image does His spiritual seed give us the divine ability to be like or at least imitate our Father in Heaven. We who believe and remember the Word or Christ are His offspring and progeny, and have inherited certain attributes, character habits and traits.
Go find out what this means. God bless everyone and have a Great Day!
