It has been twelve years now
And I remain
A kinder lover
A more gracious child
A gentler mother
I no longer scream at stone ceilings
But my knuckles are bloodied
and raw
from flinging my hands
to heaven
Even in my dreams
I have abandoned wildly
Harden these bruised knees
harder still
Let me speak with the
tongues of angels
Heal the poor through my hands
and Your touch
Bow me low to wash the feet
of Your children
Make me hunger and thirst
for Your Word
and Your presence
But sustain me with bread and wine
for I am spent

About the Book
This is one seeker’s map of a quest to know a God who sees and listens and speaks and moves. It is a trail of breadcrumbs left to mark a path of hope. It is an invitation to celebrate glimpses of the kingdom, and hold hands in the kneeling, leaning, wrestling and weeping of the waiting.
About the Author
Erin Gregory grew up in Toronto, Ontario and dreamed of becoming an actress. In her late teens she had a life transforming experience in Zimbabwe, while on a short term missions trip and felt called to become a doctor, and return to Africa. In the in-between time, she completed her biology degree at Trinity Western University and her medical training at the University of Calgary. She then spent six busy years working in the beautiful town of Peace River, Alberta, before moving with her husband and three sons to the land of milk and honey, Vancouver Island. God has graciously led her into a variety of medical positions both in Canada, and various countries in East Africa. She is presently serving as a hospitalist and an addictions medicine consultant at the Comox Valley Hospital. Writing poetry has provided a way for her to remember the beautiful, process the hard and record the whisperings of the Spirit.
