Introduction
After so many years in observation of God's grace, and in my attempts to teach it in pastoral ministry in these last days, I was made aware of how many did not know the story of God’s grace.
Do you know the story of grace? Can you tell it? Can you use it to stand against every negative situation in your life? The answers to these crucial questions will determine your success in the Kingdom of God
Perhaps the larger questions is: “Do you know the motive for God’s actions toward the human race? Specifically, what is the desire behind His actions toward us, as described about the Kingdom of God? Can we know His desire? Is it in the Bible and if so, how is it that we don't easily see it? Are these things beyond our knowing, or are we invited to discover this glorious mystery? The apostle Paul described seeking this knowledge as desiring to apprehend what has apprehended him. It was said in Hebrews:
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
And this will we do, if God permit. Emphasis mine—Hebrews 6: 1-3 (KJV)
This scripture means that God wants to take us on to a perfect knowledge of the revelation of His grace. People who understand and know the depths of God’s astounding grace… and are able to teach it.
The purpose of this book is to produce Grace Whisperers.
I believe in these last days, God is perfecting His Church to resist the leaven of the Pharisees; starting by faith, but being perfected by works. This leaven is the teaching and adherence to man-made traditions, rather than revelation from a relationship with the Holy Spirit. Every move of God, starting with the Church of the apostles, faded into a body of religious people who would then learn how to live without God’s power, simply because they lost the understanding of how to find and/or sustain this revelation. Jesus warned His Church in person (Matthew 16:6 KJV), and through the apostle Paul (Galatians 5:9 KJV), of this leaven that would leaven the whole lump.
This book is dedicated to the modus operandi of the Church of Jesus Christ. Learning how to become Grace Whisperers is learning to skillfully work with the Holy Spirit in the administration of the Gospel of Grace. The Holy Spirit brought to me the term “Grace Whisperers” as He was teaching me to see the kingdom of God through His eyes of grace.
I believe His desire is for all His people to learn how to see and minister through the eyes of grace. Therefore, this book was written as an intensive, “Spiritual Special Forces” training course as I call it. It is designed to help train the children of God—known as the “sons of God”—to be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.
My prayer is by the end of this book, you too will understand how to see the kingdom of God through grace, and comprehend His calling on your life to become one of His mighty Grace Whisperers.
I am not a writer or novelist, but out of obedience I have begun this quest. My hope is you will extend to me grace, as I try to reveal to you, the things our Lord has been revealing to me about His grace in these last days. Like Moses, if I would pay attention to my command of the English language and moderate ability to write, I would stay in my cave. God, however, has convinced me that it is not how eloquently I speak, or write, but rather that the content of what I say will be anointed by Him.
The apostle Paul said there was given to him a thorn in his flesh to buffet him. He didn’t say what it was, but we all can relate to the fact that we find weaknesses in our flesh that hinder us, and even war against what we desire to become. Paul said he asked the Lord three times to remove this “thorn” from his life, but the Lord replied all three times that His grace was sufficient.
So is His grace sufficient in our lives?
One of the great revelations that brought balance to my life was the knowledge that “I am nobody who is somebody.” I have come to realize that though I have many failures and inadequacies as a son of man, God still makes me somebody because of my place in Him as a son of God. Therefore, I, like Jacob, and everyone else on the planet, had to learn how to walk with a limp or other weaknesses—even with things that could produce shame if allowed.
For good reason God has allowed me to suffer many trials and situations throughout my life. Instead of delivering me and removing these sufferings and challenges, He taught me about His grace, enabling me to stand against all the wiles of the evil one when I applied it. I found that His grace is indeed sufficient to make me stand, and keep me standing through every battle. This is what I have come to understand as He taught me to walk in His grace for myself.
Therefore, my purpose with this book is to take on this task I believe the Lord has given me; to take you on a journey, discovering the story of His grace, found in His scriptures.
As we proceed, you’ll find my writing style is that of a narrator. I wrote this book as though we were exploring the scriptures together, which I pray is helpful to you.
First, please allow me to discuss my perspective…
