Every Bible-believing Christian has certain things that are common between all of us. Jesus is the only-begotten Son of God. He came in the form of human flesh to redeem mankind and reconcile us back to the Father. He died for the sins of humanity as the once-and-for-all sacrifice. He was buried and rose again, overcoming death, hell, and the grave, in order to save us, and provide us eternal life. He is coming again to receive us unto Himself.
There are others, but these are a few of the basics. After this, we get into doctrines and denominational beliefs. Interpretations and opinions. Things that form and influence the details of our walk in Christ. Ideas and theologies, we have often been taught from youth, that we hold to. Too much to mention briefly and things that Christ will sort out. But, as we all believe in the return of Jesus, the details vary. How, when, the manner of, and many other things that are open to interpretation and debate. It is some of these things this book will cover.
It is not my intention to get into a religious argument about the end-times. This is not meant to be a verse-by-verse breakdown of prophetical teaching. There will be many things I will not go over. Scriptures about the end times are numerous, and I do not want to make this a theological textbook. Much of what is in here will be in generalities. Make no mistake, I will provide scriptural evidence for what I will present, but there are many opinions and interpretations out there, and I am sure there will be those who will disagree with what I have written. But I do want to give the reader an overview of what is coming.
I am not looking for arguments or controversy. But I think we all need to look at what the Bible says is going to happen, and live our lives with the knowledge we are living in the last days. We all need to remember a simple thing. We could be wrong! Wrong in our ideas and interpretations of what is going to happen. My interpretation may not be what the next person believes. Although, I believe what I write with all of my heart, I have always tried to leave my mind open to what others say. We all tend to interpret things with our own knowledge, and the situations of the times we live, in mind. That is a critical error. God sees what we cannot and does what we do not understand. But we should all be able to agree Jesus is going to return, and it could be any day! The world is in a downward spiral socially, morally, and spiritually, and creation is groaning for redemption!
Anyone can look at a situation and interpret it based on what he knows and can relate to. If I ask you to envision something rolling down the highway under its own power, you would think of an automobile. But what if that question was asked of David, or Moses? Someone who did not have the insight we have. Hard to envision. This is where we get into trouble. We cannot pretend to have an insight into the mind and purpose of God outside of the Word or the teaching of the Spirit. There are far too many who claim they have that, claim a special knowledge of the Bible.
Do we really need another, “end times” book? Maybe not. I am not trying to add to the confusion of what is out there, or even promote a different theology. What I hope to accomplish is give the reader on overview of what is coming, even happening now, for the church and the world that will be left behind after its departure. I want to encourage everyone to prepare themselves as never before for the return of Christ for His people.
I will cover the highlights of the last days. I will give you Biblical evidence for my position. I will, as anyone would, present what I believe is coming. But I am not about to tell you I am the only one who is right. I have lived long enough to know, as we get older, our understanding gets deeper, more refined. Take all of this with hope for a greater knowledge, a closer walk. Hold fast to Him, for no matter how things play out, that is the only option that will see us through. If there is a rapture or not, if the tribulation plays out totally differently than what I or others think, we must all hold fast to our salvation in Christ. It is the only way to heaven! No matter what we face, stay saved!
