About the Book
What we do in life often does come back to us. This is not all that comes our way in life. We can only control what we initiate.
In My Egotistical Opinion is a collection of what author Harlen Koen would want to say to his children if he had teenage or older children. This book is for teenagers, young adults, adults, and seniors. Hopefully those who read this book will not have to spend a lifetime to learn what he learned the hard way. It includes talk about sex, narcotics, alcohol, abortion, suicide, the Golden Rule, and the Jesus freak, just to mention a few. The theme of the Golden Rule runs throughout this book. It is not just the Golden Rule as a cute rule. Sometimes it is a cold hard fact of life.
In My Egotistical Opinion points out that what we do does in fact come back to us. This is not all that will cross our path in life. Bad things happen to good people. Sometimes we are just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sometimes we are affected by what others have done, regardless of what we have done. The Golden Rule is simple. Life is complicated. The least often becomes what is most significant, so we need to pay attention to the little things. Two things that seem contradictory do not require one to be false and the other true. Sometimes both are true.
