Called to be…Let us make man in our image.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.
“The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
Matthew 6:22-23
Spiritual blindness is one of our worst conditions because without light into ourselves, how can the Holy Spirit operate? Do we really understand who we are in Christ? When Christ spoke these words, he was pointing out a weakness that is in us. If we took a look under the hood, (what is truly in our heart & our mind) what would we find? Our true character comes from inside us and it can be hid by how we act around others or even to ourselves. Christ is saying that we can be a danger to ourselves as well as to others. What may look good on the outside, may not be what we truly see.
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
1 John 1:5-7
We, as Christians, should not be like the man who looks in the mirror and sees his reflection, goes away and forgets what he looks like. Remember that we are accountable to God in all that we do. The Spirit of God is saying, where is the holiness that should be inside you, in your life, your love for others and your true fear of God? We, as New Testament Christians in this modern age, have not witnessed the works of Jesus Christ, but he still speaks to us today.
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
John 14:12
When you read the entire text on what Christ was speaking about to his disciples, it did not end there. We are his new disciples and we are ask to continue to do his work and with a greater expectation in the results. The results I’m talking about is changed lives, Jesus Christ has already saved our lives on the cross. The enemy is trying to keep us broken and spiritually blind by attacking our families and our churches. Ask yourself this question; if you only know the ways of the church and you have no real relationship with God or his Son, you never open your Bible on your own, you have no real prayer life; tell me what are you expecting God to do for you? If you know that God has a purpose and a plan for your life, then why are you hiding from God? When I say that you are hiding means that you are being disobedient, which is a sin before God. This is to those who have chosen to be just bench members and those who are trying to work their way to God. To have a life with little or no faith and without love is a wasted life.
For it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?
