Moms Like Christ
The job of being a Christian mother is very intense and overwhelming. She must not only see to the physical needs of her children, she must stay aware of the mental, social, psychiatric and spiritual needs of each child. While being alert to all these conditions, she must keep the house clean, complete tons of laundry, satisfy her husband’s needs, maintain a social life of her own, and keep her sanity. Moreover some energetic mothers have a job outside of the home. Feeling overwhelmed yet? Me too!
When we become mothers, our children are a blessing from God.
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” Psalm 127:3 NIV
We, along with our husbands, are called to raise our children up according to God’s Word.
“Start a child off in the way he should go, and even when they are old they will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 NIV
“Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead bring, them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4 NIV
As we run the race set out before us we will encounter God in so many different aspects of our life. God reveals Himself in and around us as long as we continue to watch for Him. We will hear stories from our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. Many of these stories may include revelation of God working in the lives of our ancestors. We should cherish these stories. These are what I call ‘faith builders’. Experiences we use to increase our faith and trust in God.
God calls the older women to help lead the younger women (Titus 2:3-5). We older women have experience many different seasons of motherhood. Through each season, we struggle to make daily decisions that will help equip our children for life in this every darkening world. As young women open your hearts and ears to the older women God has placed in your life. As older women, pray and seek God’s will for using your stories to help encourage and uplift others.
Every story in the bible leads us to a deeper understanding of who God made us to be. As mothers, we search His Word to discover the best ways to raise our children. God has so graciously given us guidelines, but how do we draw the connections between motherhood and His Word? That’s what this book is all about; taking God’s Word and taking these lessons and applying them to our lives. Join me on this journey as we study God’s Word. We will focus on 14 Godly traits of a mother:

As we study each attribute above, we will relate it to different woman from the bible. Some of our examples are true Godly women who lived their lives to please God. Others are women who knew of God, but never took the time to draw close to Him. We can learn from each of these types of women. Every word in the bible is for our growth as Christians. Join me on this adventure! You won’t regret it!
Mapping God’s Word
Spending time with God daily is a top priority in this bible study. Prayer is a major communication tool we can use to build our relationship with God. God has given us His Word to guide us through making major and minor decisions in life.
God’s Word is our number one, most important communication tool. This is where we learn about Him. The only way we can become a better wife, mother, daughter, and friend is to know God more. God is all knowing. He is the author of life. He has equipped each of us with the ability to know Him on a personal level. He will not force you to grow deeper with Him. You must take the initiative to get to know Him on your own. Pick up the bible and read it. Don’t read it to just say you’ve read His Word. Read it to learn, grow, and understand Him.
I would like to introduce to you a process I use while reading the bible. I call it ‘MAPPING GOD’S WORD’. This process helps me to grow deeper instead of just reading the scriptures. Every word God has placed in the bible is there for a reason. If we just read the words but don’t dig deeper, we may miss out on so much truth that He placed there for us. I will teach you how I use this mapping process. You can mirror my mapping, choose to use only parts of it, or use your own method. As long as you are reading scripture to grow deeper, any method will work.
Step #1: Choose which translation you prefer
Everyone has their favorite version.
Step #2: Copy the scripture into your book
Next, rewrite the scripture word-for-word.
Step #3: Map out the verse
Using symbols and colors you can mark out important parts, words to define, and more.
Step #4: Define words
Use a bible dictionary or concordance to look up definitions of words. Search out the original Greek definitions.
Step #4: Add commentary notes
Search pastors notes or wisdom from trusted sources. Take note of their wise words.
Step #5: Summary
Summarize what this verse means to you.
Step #6: Apply it to your life
Write out how this verse(s) can be applied to your life.
Step #7: Pray it back to God
From the knowledge you have gained, you now have a plan of action to apply this verse to your life; talk to God about it.

About the Book
As moms we are super busy! We are pulled in many different directions at the same time in all the while wondering how we will survive. Our kids are our life. We live and breathe for them. But have we truly invested in our children? Have we gone to the Truth source to gain knowledge on what our children truly need? Have we approached God to see His opinion of parenting? Your first excuse may be finding the time. However, we can find time to scroll on social media, group chat with friends, or catch up on our favorite TV show. Our children deserve to be raised by mothers who equip themselves with God’s Word as their guide. Moms Like Christ is ready to help guide you through God’s Word to discover His Truths for your daily life decisions as wives and mothers. Set up to be completed with other Christian moms, Moms Like Christ will lead your group through discussions about 14 attributes of a Christian mom documented by scripture. You will parallel these attributes with women from the bible whose lives can give us guidance on righteous living. Ladies, God’s Word never returns void. As you meet together you will draw closer to Him, to one another, and you will become more confident in fulfilling your God given gift: motherhood.
Book 2: Emotional Wreck
Through An Emotional Wreck you will discover how to love unconditionally, how to create deep intimate relationships with each of your children, learn to embrace your faith as energy to keep going, and learn how to ride the emotional rollercoaster we call life. You will parallel these studies with a closer look at the lives of Bathsheba, the widow of Zarephath, Naomi, and Hannah. Each of these bible characters exhibit qualities we as Christian moms should reflect.
About the Author
Inspired to write her testimony at age 40, Sarah discovered God amongst the mess she called her life. At age 20 Sarah married the love of her life, only to discover the hardships of keeping your marriage God-centered. At age 24 she experienced her first heart wrenching miscarriage which led her towards the road of depression. As her life continued it’s up and down journey, Sarah found herself in a very dark place. All the while God was standing by ready and waiting for her to surrender her will to His. During this dark season of her life she became a mother to three children, carried a full-time middle school teaching job, and worked in various ministries. Her life was a constant busy schedule that never seemed to decline in activities. With the help of her husband and Christian friends, Sarah learned to rely on God as her strength. God surrounded her with many different Christian woman mentors; women to help her through when she was unsure of what, where, or how to make it. As she wrote her life story, God revealed to her 14 attributes of a Christian mom. With a deep love for God’s Word, she found 14 women from the Bible that paralleled these attributes. From her written testimony and Gods Word she wrote Moms Like Christ. Sarah wanted to create an environment where older women could mentor the younger women (Titus 2:3-5). Together with sisters in Christ women could study scripture, discuss the struggles of being a wife and mom, and develop relationships that would last a lifetime in the process. Sarah Bibler is a farmer’s wife of 23 years, mother of 3 amazing children, taught school for 19 years, and continues to mentor women in and out of her home.
