Trusting God When You Cannot See His Hand

The purpose of this Bible study material is to give one the opportunity to assess the thinking of the secular community with regards to the sufferings of the abused in general. The study material is focused on helping abused in general which covers victims of rape or sufferers of some other brutal crime. It produces a biblically informed response, which can enable people for whom the small group is designed to respond to the suffering in a scriptural manner. This also includes information which are helpful with what other professionals are thinking with regards to this issue.

The study material is woven and enriched with God’s Word, for different types of suffering, trauma, and abuse. It emphasizes ministry with gentleness for the abused, as well as the necessity of medical checkups. The study focuses to minister on all areas of an abused individual, in a holistic way: cognitively, relationally, personally, physically, theologically, emotionally, and motivationally. The purpose is to move forward and have a long-distance view of the process of overcoming the pain of abuse, despite the situation, because of what God has done through His Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross. Overcoming the intense pain of the abused is emotionally, physically, and mentally exhausting. It is almost like climbing a mountain; it takes time, and it also involves blood, sweat, tears and perseverance.

Comparing and assessing the thinking of the secular community regarding suffering and to produce a biblically informed response is the goal of this study. The response in humility and gentleness can be very attractive to the sufferings of the abused. The small group sessions have the format of discussion break-out sessions, case studies, illustrative stories, written exercises, etc. Give attention not only to the information you think is important to share, but also to the individuals who are in the small group. It is expected for the group to keep the things discussed confidential and pray together at the end of the session before departing.
