Strong Will

Today is our 21st wedding anniversary. Through the years we’ve questioned the wisdom of choosing this date. Reservations are difficult to get at restaurants-but Bill, ever the finance guy, joked that it was a smart tax move. So, typically we have an early dinner out to avoid the party crowd sometimes gathering back at home with friends. This year, though, we had a quiet dinner alone in our relatively germ free home. It’s a strange New Year’s Eve. Our resolution for 2018 isn’t to lose weight or spend more time accomplishing projects. Our resolution is to stay positive, focus on God’s plan, and try to find gratitude in every day. Bill felt relatively well today. He’s awfully tired but is good about sleeping when he needs it. And he was more like himself today-bantering about the Lions and their miserable football record, showing more love and affection……things that are usually “normal” –but these days can be too much. That’s what I mean about gratitude. I don’t need glitzy gifts. I am so grateful to see the man I love having a pretty good day. As the months progress, they will be challenging we know, but we look for the “light “at the end of the tunnel and keep moving in that direction.
