Purpose: God gives us courage and strength to face big obstacles, no matter how big or small we are.

I. A description of Goliath
1. 9ft tall
2. Bronze Helmet
3. Coat of Armor
4. Spear that weighed 15lbs
5. Coat of armor weighing 125lbs
6. He was boastful saying “Am I not a Philistine”
II. A description of David
1. Obedient to his father and mother (note: he took bread and grain to his brothers in the battle field)
2. Small (note: he couldn’t wear his brother’s armor)
3. David had Faith (note: David believed God would deliver him from Goliath’s mighty hand, just as he had delivered him from the lion and the bear)
III. The Final Battle
A. David defeats Goliath with 5 smooth stones and a sling.

About the Book
This book is a colorful presentation of biblical images, poems, and devotionals that bring the gospel and adult-child interaction to life. Each devotional contains questions that promote further learning and generate discussions about biblical truths. My hope is that you and the children you present this information to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of scripture and grow in your faith as a result of reading this book.
About the Author
Jessica Cleveland spent the early part of her young adult life serving as a camp counselor in various Christian arenas. She served at Camp of wthe Rising Son, in French Camp Mississippi for five summers as both support staff and a camp counselor. Camp of the Rising Son is located in French Camp, Mississippi. In the summer of 2005 she served as a summer missionary in the inner city of Minneapolis Minnesota. In the summer of 2006 she served as a member of the Central Hills Baptist Assembly Leadership team and camp store director. Central Hills is located in Kosciusko, Mississippi. During these experiences she developed the devotionals in an effort to reach young children for Christ. She is now a Licensed Professional Counselor in the States of Alabama and Mississippi. She completed her bachelors and Master’s degree at Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi. She enjoys playing guitar, spending time with her family, and serving at her local church.
