Surviving the Dips of My Unexpected Journey

I worked throughout my pregnancy. Every day I got up, cleaned up, hid my bruises and headed out the door to my job. One bright, clear September morning . I was sitting in stalled traffic on the overpass of interstate. It was about 9.00am, the sky was clear and bright, the sun was warm, and I was bopping to something playing on the radio of my new 1978 Camaro. It was shaping up to be a good day, and regardless of the delay I was enjoying myself this morning. Suddenly, I felt a terrible jolt from behind. The force of the impact sent my brand new 1978 Camaro half way over the guard rail of the highway. It happened so quickly that it took a bit of time for my mind to register what was going on. When I tried to move I realize that my baby bump of six and a half months was wedged through the hole in the steering wheel. My car, with me in it, was hanging over the guardrail of the over pass, one move too quickly or in the wrong direction could send this car plummeting too the highway below. I hung there suspended over the rail, scared, to move. The fear was overwhelming, matched only by the pain in my stomach which had begun almost immediately after the crash.Page 28th and 29.
