THE GOSPEL OF PEACE
When we learn to love ourselves the way that God loves us then we will not do anything that is against what is best for us. It is a love that will never fail us.
We honor the Creator when we honor ourselves. God made us in His image. God is love and cannot be defiled. Nothing we can do will cause Him to accept us any more than He does right now. Jesus came and gave His life to show us we have the breath of life , “that bit of faith”, that God breathed into us and made us His child. We now have the assurance of love and acceptance. We have only to believe that He paid the price once and for all eternity.
We are all God’s children: some are obedient, some are not. The sins that keep us from believing that God is in us is: fear, doubt, and unbelief. Jesus’ message was; Fear not! Only believe! Fear not! Only Believe! It is that easy.
Some are as the prodigal son and go and waste their inheritance. Still, it remains God is waiting with open arms.
By our words we justify ourselves or we condemn ourselves.
We are of our natural father if we do not believe. We need to renew our mind. We have a natural mind and a spiritual mind.
He gave us life; may we give others life.
Why can’t we hear the preaching of the Gospel of Peace?
“God loves you, God loves you, you are loved.” Only trust!
Only truth will set us free. Fear is death, doubt is death, unbelief is death. We need only to choose life, faith, hope, and complete trust. We can be free to love without any fear, doubt, or misgivings.
The cross that Jesus bore was His earthly mind. He used the word, “ It is written,” to come against the enemy that wanted to sit in His mind. That is our cross to bear. Take up your cross and follow me, was Jesus’s message. By following Jesus, we find He was victorious over His mind.
He prayed, not my will but thy will be done. I ask God to show me what He was like, not what I had been told He was like. He began to open His word and His words gave life to me. One scripture lead to another until truth began to open my eyes. I found only peace, love and understanding. There was no condemnation.
He showed me so much love when I didn’t think I deserved it.
I failed miserably many times and He did not condemn me.
So, I will not be denied the privilege of loving you and forgiving you.
If we believe that God loves us completely, and we love others without any drawbacks, just like He loves us, then we are doing God’s will. His will is to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly before God. We belong to God. The price was high, but it is marked paid. We are our brother’s keeper.
Knowledge of the truth is the knowledge of love. We are forgiven, because love forgives us, and our love forgives others.
Torment is not life. Comfort in knowing God, is life.
Where is our treasure? For where our treasure is there will our heart be also. My treasures are not my house, furniture, car, money, clothes. What is important to me is to be loved by my heavenly Father and have a clear conscience.
Jesus was our example as He overcame the enemy with His testimony of speaking the words of life.
I wrote a poem: “My love will that empty place fill; to fill your life the way I want, is to hear me say, Well Done, is it not? The secret of life you have found, keep giving forth so His love will abound.”
“Listen? Do you hear Him speak?”
His message will always be “The Gospel of Peace.”

The wisdom revealed was overwhelmingly easy to understand and use in her daily life, bringing her comfort and joy. When God opened her eyes, His truth became real to her. There are still trials and tribulations, but Thompson now confides in a divine friend through prayer and the written word.
About the Author
Treva Scott Thompson is a mother and grandmother. She grew up in a very Christian home where she believed in an angry fire and brimstone God. Later, she discovered God is actually a being of unconditional affection and mercy. Treva lives in Fairview, Texas.
