Dr. Pamala Wilson writes her personal testimony of her life before meeting Jesus Christ and the immediate deliverance from her slavery to sin and self. After experiencing freedom in Christ and learning to live empowered by the Holy Spirit and not enslaved to her flesh, she wants to share how the battle between the Spirit and the flesh can be won by feeding the Holy Spirit and crucifying the flesh. Whichever one you feed is the one that is empowered. By living in victory over the constant battle between the Spirit and flesh, her burden and the motivation behind her writing is to help other Christians live victoriously as well.
Spirit vs. Flesh takes readers through the fall of mankind, God's redemptive plan, the constant battle between the spirit and the flesh and the results of the choices we make in our lives to live empowered by the spirit or the flesh.
In the fall of mankind, the seed of sin entered human nature because Adam and Eve sinned against God by eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Due to their sin against God, they were banished from the Garden of Eden and we were banished from the presence of God.
God had a plan to get us back into his presence again by sending his only son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect life, die a criminal’s death on the cross, to pay the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Through Jesus Christ, we could be forgiven of our sins and be back in the presence of God.
We are all in a constant battle between the spirit and the flesh. Through our choices that we make in our lives, the results of those choices to live empowered by the spirit or enslaved to the flesh are discussed. Each spiritual fruit or attribute is discussed according to what the bible says and the opposite result of living in the flesh.
The results of our choices that are each discussed in detail are:
Love vs. Hate; Joy vs. Sorrow; Peace vs. Strife; Patience vs. Impatience; Kindness vs. Cruelty; Righteousness vs. Wickedness; Gentleness vs. Harshness; Faithfulness vs. Unfaithful; Self-control vs. Uncontrolled; Humility vs. Pride; Purity vs. Impurity; Satisfied vs. Dissatisfied; Rest vs. Stress; Freedom vs. Slavery; Light vs. Darkness; Hope vs. Despair; Connected vs. Disconnected; Lost vs. Found; Old vs. New; Fearful vs. Fearless; Strength vs. Weakness; Generous vs. Greedy; Innocent vs. Guilty; Life vs. Death; and a few other results.
The last section discusses how we can be victorious in the battle between the spirit and the flesh and the benefits of living in victory. When you live in victory, you will be fulfilling the purpose you were created for while here on earth and have an earthly and eternal positive impact on the kingdom of God.

We are not living differently than the world and making a difference for the kingdom of God because we are not revealing God in the way we live our lives. Yet by accepting Christ and equipping ourselves for spiritual warfare, we can be victorious in the battle between the spirit and the flesh!
About the Author
Dr. Pamala Wilson is a nurse anesthetist and has taught high school Sunday school for over ten years. She studied at the University of Arkansas, the University of Missouri, and Truman Medical Center, and she received her doctorate degree at Texas Wesleyan University. She is the CEO and president of Freelance Anesthesia, specializing in pediatric anesthesia. At the age of forty, she was immediately delivered from her slavery to sin and self, and she has now learned to live her life in victory and wants to share that message with others.
