The Lord began to show me that although I was physically single for the first time since I was fifteen years old, my heart was still in other places. I had given my heart in pieces to things and people that did not respect it, protect it, or care for it in a way that esteemed me, edified me, and truly reflected the Heart of the Father. My heart had learned to do gymnastics through love, loss, hurt, grief, hope, and the like. Therefore, God’s new Spirit within me revealed to my mind that I was single but my heart was still fragmented and divided.
It is upon this insight that I write this book.
God did a work in me, and I believe that he wants to do a work in you too, perhaps through a similar process and through this book. You may be in a place like I was, unsure of how to call back your mind, emotions, and will from the things you’ve experienced. You may not even think you need to. However, the truth of the matter is, many are single but not single-minded; many are married but not undivided. Regardless of your physical relationship status, I want to expound on the topic of singleness as it relates to wholeness. I will cover subjects such as upbringing and family dynamics, the powerful bonding force of sex and intimacy, voids we may have that require healing, multiple facets of physical relationships, and reclaiming your identity and your single heart.

Too often we feel stuck in our lives, being battered by life experiences and not knowing how to move forward. In both our relationships and in our spirituality, our hearts can feel broken. Our brokenness is appealing to God, but it’s not his desire for us to stay that way.

About the Author
Langré Edwards is a first-time author, and she accepted God’s call to write The Single Heart after her transformative journey. The woman she is today is not the woman she was when she first accepted Jesus Christ, and now she is passionate about documenting moments and memories. She is a professional photographer, an abstract artist, and a lover of life; her motto is “live authentically, love intentionally.”
