Sometimes, we need to be reminded of the things we already know but have forgotten over time. Though our forgetfulness is not intentional, it sometimes takes a reminder to get us back to the things that are most important. For instance, we take friendships, relationships, and even family, for granted. We fail to stop and be thankful for the little things that others do for us, and sometimes it takes a little reminder for us to remember the worth and tremendous value of some people in our lives.
Ephesians 1:5-10, reminds us of our Father God, and how we sometimes forget who He is, all He has done, and continues to do for us. As I stop and reflect on my life before I knew The Lord and His great love for me, I can’t help but be thankful for the difference He has made in my life, and I never want to forget that. Ephesians 1:5-10 is such a beautiful part of scripture! In a very simple, but powerful way, this scripture gives us a look at the heart of Father God, who He is, and what He desires for us. God first introduces Himself as THE Creator. He isn’t merely a creator, but He is THE CREATOR (Genesis 1:1,2). He wants you to remember that HE made all things, and that they were made for His glory and good pleasure! – even you.
We get to see Him as a Father, who adopts us into His own family, and forgiving us for our sins. He did not spare the life of His only son Jesus to do so. He pours out grace and mercy freely upon us, showing kindness, and daily providing His wisdom to us. If this was not enough, Father God has also shared the mysteries of His plan regarding Christ, in fulfilling His purpose for all things in heaven and on earth. Think about it. It is all for HIS GOOD PLEASURE! PRE-PLANNED, from the beginning of time. The King of glory wants us for Himself! He is a God who loves, a Father who embraces the welfare of His children, a God who provides and delights in those who are His. How often do you think about where you would be if His purpose did not include you? Or if His kindness and grace was suddenly withheld from you? Or if His wisdom was not available to you? Where would we be if He had been selfish and kept His Only Son to Himself? Wow! Something to really think about, isn’t it? I know that I would be in a most miserable state. However, when I stop and take time to remember, I remember how blessed I am, and how much I am loved my Him.
I encourage you to take time daily to remember who our God is – THE Creator of all things in heaven and on earth! Our Father and Creator. The One who loves us without conditions, who has plans for our success and shares those plans with us. We have been created for His good pleasure, therefore I think it is only fitting if we also make Him our good pleasure. May the richest blessings of our Father be upon you as you remember Him in all you do, allowing His Presence to light up your day and bless you with His sustaining peace.
Father, I love You! I acknowledge Your awesome love for me! I am daily amazed and awed by Your continued care, I pray I will always remember and bless You with more of me in Your Presence.

About the Author
Delores Chavis has always been an encourager to others. She is a retired educator who founded SEE (Support, Encourage, Enlighten) Ministries, Inc., a ministry for women, while living in Virginia. Delores is the mother of one son and granddaughter, and now resides in Morrisville, North Carolina. This is her first book.
