Cancer is . . . sometimes confusing. I don't know about it from personal experience, only from what I imagine. Cancer reaches out and reaches in. It's a hope loser and a hope finder. Cancer gets trapped in bodies and souls and sometimes it gets set free by healing and sometimes it gets set free by death. Healing may be death and death may be healing.
It can build spirit and break spirits all at the same time.
Cancer can be foundation-making and earth-shaking.
It's a heart breaker.
Cancer makes both fear and peace, love and war.
It's like being in a desert in a snowstorm; it's not what most people are expecting. Cancer ends up causing people to expect the worst and the best simultaneously. Cancer opens up a story that may be waiting to be read or it may just be waiting to be written.

L.H. Tuffy defined cancer and then asked her friends and family - Am I wrong? Some answered her in writing. And all did much more than answer her question as they walked beside her on the "golf course sidelines" while she traveled through cancer.
