About the Book
This devotional is to encourage you to have a daily devotion—a time of reading and prayer in God’s presence. It is also a road map for reading through the Bible in a year. It is a long journey, but it will go quickly, believe me. In this journey, we will get better acquainted with the God of the Bible. Let us learn to walk with him daily!
About the Author
I was born in 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri, and have lived here all my life. I dropped out of high school at the age of sixteen and enlisted in the United Air Force, leaving for Lackland Air Force Base the day after my seventeenth birthday. I spent four years in the Air Force, with one year in Vietnam at Bien Hoa Air Base. I got my GED while in the Air Force. My wife Mary and I were married in June of 1967. I was discharged in August of 1967 and in September began my career with United Parcel Service. I was with UPS for twenty-six years. During that time, we were blessed with two wonderful daughters. We moved from Kansas City to Levasy, Missouri, and started attending Anchor Point Baptist Church in Independence. I was ordained to the Gospel ministry at Anchor Point and later was called to pastor a church in Freeman, Missouri. I was with Freeman Baptist Church for over two years. When I left there, I got a job with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). I spent nine years with the Archives. I am retired now. We have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The Word of God has always been my passion. For over thirty years, I have worked in the Sunday school ministry. Today we live in Grain Valley, Missouri, and I am still active in my local church, First Baptist Church of Grain Valley.
