I was born in 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri, and have lived here all my life.
I dropped out of high school at the age of sixteen and enlisted in the United Air Force, leaving for Lackland Air Force Base the day after my seventeenth birthday. I spent four years in the Air Force, with one year in Vietnam at Bien Hoa Air Base. I got my GED while in the Air Force.
My wife Mary and I were married in June of 1967. I was discharged in August of 1967 and in September began my career with United Parcel Service. I was with UPS for twenty-six years. During that time, we were blessed with two wonderful daughters. We moved from Kansas City to Levasy, Missouri, and started attending Anchor Point Baptist Church in Independence. I was ordained to the Gospel ministry at Anchor Point and later was called to pastor a church in Freeman, Missouri.
I was with Freeman Baptist Church for over two years. When I left there, I got a job with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). I spent nine years with the Archives.
I am retired now. We have six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The Word of God has always been my passion. For over thirty years, I have worked in the Sunday school ministry. Today we live in Grain Valley, Missouri, and I am still active in my local church, First Baptist Church of Grain Valley.
