About the Book

I want to encourage committed Christians, Sunday church attendees, and nonbelievers to search for a deeper sense of understanding of how and where to find the peace within themselves.

Remember each of us has both a gift and a purpose that we should fulfill and utilize as we proceed on our life’s journey. Always do your best to exhibit to others in your countenance and your actions that you are a follower of Jesus. Let patience, faithfulness, love, mercy, and self-control be exercised on a consistent basis. If we follow this pathway in a conscientious manner, others will be interested in our realm of happiness and peace of mind.

It’s equally important for us to read the Bible on a regular basis to both deepen our faith and to learn and be able to explain to others the promises of God that broaden our understanding and commitment. By following this initiative, we will bring others to Christ and, at the same time, deepen our own faith and commitment.

Most importantly, have a purposeful prayer connection with our Lord. Open your heart in praise and thanksgiving for the blessings that have been extended to you and your family. Ask humbly for forgiveness for the transgressions that you have committed through the week. Only then, ask for the needs or desires that you feel will lead you to a more committed life for God and the Lord Jesus Christ. Ask the Lord for guidance as you proceed forward in your quest to learn more and to gain understanding and experience in your own personal closeness with God. As you feel purpose for yourself, do not be selfish, but enthusiastically share your peace of mind with others.

May the unfolding of my words ignite your search for the true riches of peace of mind through your faith and reliance in Jesus Christ.

About the Author

John Dolcater (known as Jan) spent most of his life in Florida in the building materials business before moving briefly to Florence, Alabama to take a manufacturing job as VP of Sales & Marketing. He finally settled on the coast of Maine where he continued his sales career until retirement.
Wherever he has lived, Jan has participated in and committed to various levels of church work. In Florida, he served as a Vestry member several times and also as a lay reader and lay assistant. He also taught ninth grade Sunday school and coached the church basketball team. Jan was a leader in organizing renewal events and both he and his wife, June, participated in Cursillo.
Throughout the three years living in Alabama, he also served as both lay reader and lay assistant.
After moving to Maine in 1994, Jan served multiple times on the Vestry at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Camden, Maine, as well as serving as lay reader and lay assistant and teaching Sunday school. He helped to initiate the renewal program, Emotionally Free, which drew participants from a number of other local communities across the midcoast of Maine.
Both in Maine and in Alabama, the clergy asked him to give sermons to their churches and others in the community.
Jan has served for eight years as his church representative to the local Food Pantry and for six years led the effort to raise funds for local low-income individuals and families who had lost a large percentage of heating assistance funds. This effort raised over $150,000, without incurring any fundraising expenses.
Three years ago, he began working on Peace Within Through God’s Way to provide guidance for individuals of all ages who are believers in God and also non-believers who are having difficulty dealing with anxiety and lack of peace of mind.
