I love roads. I don’t know why, I just do. The more they wind and turn, the better I like them. Call me crazy, but I think a road with texture and curves is beautiful! It must be the thought of going places, but not being able to see where that draws me forward. It reminds me of Abram’s journey in the Bible of going without knowing where. All he knew was that God told him to go to a place He would show him. So he followed the direction of the Lord.
Life is like that. No matter how well we plan for the future, no one really knows all the bends, bumps or rocky terrain we will face in the road along the way. Life is a journey, but it is the unexpected around the bend that keeps us alert with anticipation and pressing on over the rough, rocky places. A winding road that we have never traveled before presents the opportunity for something new and exciting, even if it does not seem like it at the present time. We press on trusting that the next phase of our journey will lead us to the good God has for us.

About the Author
Virginia Grounds is a speaker, author, Bible Teacher, former radio host, and effective communicator. She has a passion for God’s Word and serving in ministry. Her love for women’s ministry and passion for God’s Word has given her success in speaking, teaching and writing for more than 25 years.
She served with her husband in full-time ministry for 17 years. Helping to meet the needs of hurting people motivated her to write her first book, Facing Fears, Quenching Flames.
She has served on the Women’s Ministry Teaching Team at her home church in Plano, Texas. She has written Bible Studies, poetry and devotional books for the purpose of growing women in their faith and teaching life lessons for survival in our world today.
She is a wife, mom and grandmother.
