About the Book
Despite setbacks, obstacles and critical remarks from yourself or others, remember your future is in God's hands. If God be for you, who can be against you? He has declared, in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This thirty-one-day devotional and journal is complete with a daily topic, scripture, devotional, prayer, and a place to jot down what God is speaking to you in this season of your life.
If you have lost hope in pursuing your dreams, or have been fighting against resistance which has hindered your progress, no matter who or what it is, I exhort you to receive the word of the Lord, and get back in position. Remember you are more than a conqueror, and no one can stop you, but you. Increase your faith and hope in order to obtain the desire God has placed in your heart, and ultimately, to give Him the glory.
About the Author
Jennifer Harris Thompson's heart of compassion prepared her for working in Social Services as a Medical and Legal Advocate, for survivors of Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence. Her empathetic nature also readied her for work in Healthcare, on various units including Orthopedic Trauma, Labor and Delivery, the NICU, and as a Doula, and a Certified Lactation Consultant. After working in helping professions for over 10 years, because of her love for writing, sharing people’s stories and inspiring others, she decided to pursue her lifelong dream of working in Television and Radio Broadcast.
Pursuing and conquering your goals has always been important to Jennifer, so she took a leap of faith with God, and returned to school to obtain a second degree, and graduated from DePaul University with her degree in Broadcast Journalism. She was a Freelance Writer, and an On-Air Host for an inspirational radio station, before being hired as a Producer and Reporter for an ABC, and FOX affiliate in Illinois. Months later she was promoted to Morning Co-Anchor, and began anchoring segments of the four-hour long broadcast. After leaving, she was hired as the Morning News Anchor at WVON in Chicago.
Jennifer answered the call to ministry years ago and is an Ordained Minister under Faith Ministries Alliance, which is founded by Dr. Bill Winston. Minister Thompson is the founder of Marvellous Light Ministries, and More Than Conquerors Praise Dance Ministry. She began her pastoral care as a Prayer Warrior, praying for the sick in hospitals, and preparing food and giving it to those in need on Chicago’s west side. While ministering to them, she offered prayer, handed out bibles, and extended the invitation to receive Christ. She continues her work as a Broadcast Journalist as ministry allows. Jennifer attributes all of her accomplishments to God, and says, “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:10
