“You may be the only Bible some people read.” I am very partial to that saying because it drives home a very valid point.

The Gideons have distributed over two billion Bibles to date, according to their website. While I know that many of them have been used, I’d be willing to bet that quite a few have gone unopened. Just because you hand someone a Bible does not mean he or she is going to read it. However, when you truly live your faith, showing what you believe through the way you speak and act, you become a Bible that people around you cannot help but “read.”

And you don’t have to do anything big. You don’t have to stand on street corners and hand out Bibles like the Gideons or walk door-to-door in neighborhoods like the Jehovah’s Witnesses. There’s nothing wrong with being that bold. But remember that the little things, like not being afraid to pray in public or referring to God in a way that is not swearing, can make all the difference in someone’s life.
