Sweet little honeybee sat on the bench,
On the top of the hill, not in the trench.
She looked down from the hill, feeling proud of her hike,
Wanting to tell someone, but there was nobody in sight.
She thought nobody would listen and nobody would care,
So honeybee spoke to her heavenly Father up there.
Honeybee started,
“It’s lonely being a honeybee.
Nobody wants to get close to me.”
Her Father leaned in and gave her a hug.
“It’s just so hard being the world’s most misunderstood bug.”
She fought back a tear that fell from her eye.
And sweet little honeybee started to cry.
And so she continued,
“People think I will hurt them. They think I mean harm.
They’re scared I will sting them on their nose and their arm!
But I know the price, so sting I don’t dare.
I just want to love them and show how I care.
For if I sting once, then I lose my life
I don’t want to do that, I don’t want to fight!”
Her Father drew closer and said,
“Tell me more. Tell me all the parts of your heart that are sore.”
Honeybee thought aloud,
“I don’t understand why I’m feeling this way.
There’s something inside that I just need to say.
But I don’t know how and I don’t know when.
I am starting to feel like giving up again.”
