People always say that knowledge is power, but I believe knowledge is potential power while wisdom makes the power a reality. Understanding is knowing what to do, while wisdom is knowing how to do it. Knowing the word of God does not guarantee victory. A soldier on the battlefield can have the best sword ever made and may know everything about it such as the type of steel used to make it, the length, weight and other statistics, but if he doesn’t know how to lift it up towards the enemy, hold it in the proper stance and know how to wield it in combat, he will die against an enemy who has inferior weapons but knows how to use them.
Knowing that we need to pray, and even how to pray, in the sense that prayer is talking to God, is potential knowledge. Learning how to use the word of God in our prayers is the wisdom that this book will offer to its readers and enable us to become a master swordsman. With the teachings in this book, you will not just become just another piece of cannon fodder on the battlefield; a private fresh out of boot camp with no real combat experience, but a five-star general in the spirit world.
While we are never called to start a fight (Romans 12:18), if someone is fighting you, do not back down or surrender; instead finish the fight. The bible calls our enemy “the adversary” (1 Peter 5:8). Your adversary is someone who looks for an occasion to steal from you, kill you, or destroy you. Your adversary has no mercy and shows no pity or remorse towards you. He and his minions are irrational in their hatred for you. This describes our enemy, the devil, pretty well, and this description sticks to his nature like Gorilla Glue!
When the devil walks to and fro, and up and down in the earth, he knows the truth. In fact, the bible says he is “wiser than Daniel” (Ezekiel 28:3). When he looks at you, he is searching to see if you know the truth. In Mark 4:3-20, Jesus told a parable of a person who scattered seed around, then likened the results of his sowing to different kinds of people. He said the first seeds fell by the wayside, never taking root, while other seeds represent people who allow their lifestyle and things of the world to choke it off.
I encourage you not to let the Word of God sown in your hearts lay by the wayside where the fowls of the air come by and eat it, or allow the weeds to choke it off and displace it. The reason Satan comes immediately to take the word sowed in our hearts is because he knows the potential power of the word of God once it Is received by a child of God. He fears the seed taking root and achieving its potential by enabling a Christian to become a Prayer Warrior.
The word of God is like a receipt. We need to keep it so that it can be presented at all times whenever needed. The word of God is for our profit; therefore, Satan comes immediately to try and steal it as soon as it’s sowed. This is the time to make sure he does not succeed, instead allow our passion to be turned into action by God’s grace.
