HEART

my broken heart is still your home
so
it’s just You and me
again
i said
to God
when the other gentleman
walked out of my heart
and left us with enough space
to do cartwheels
and repaint the walls
and see each other from every crack
of rainbow light
seeping through its still pulsing skin
a promise
after the fl ood
where the new landscape seems
quiet
and strange
and my patience is tried
by its slow fertility
so
here we are
again
