Call Upon Him, Little Ones

Once when I went camping

I went to gather stones and sticks

And as I walked among the trees

A shadow moved real quick.

I looked in that direction

And guess what I saw there?

A very big and black

And furry, scary bear!

He looked at me and sniffed the air

And then he shook his head

He stared at me with big dark eyes

My heart was full of dread.

I stood there frozen on the spot

I did not blink an eye

I felt that if I moved at all

That I would surely die.

The bear began to growl at me

A terrifying sound!

My legs grew weak, I could not stand

I fell upon the ground.

I heard his giant paws thumping

And tearing through the wood

He was coming straight for me

This was definitely not good!

I yelled out “JESUS, HELP ME!”

As I have learned to do

And that bear ran right on past me!

Jesus, Thank you!

I wish that everyone knew Him

He could can save us all!

From anything at any time,

If on His name we call.
