A Snowy Night
The snow never speaks a word,
But it’s silence can be often heard,
The inky black branches,
Do a dance in the wind,
The snow swirls and whirls,
The moon watches,
The trees bend,
The pond is silver,
And covered with ice,
I can almost see,
Fairies skating there tonight,
Would that I could be,
One of these,
And leave this world,
Of grief,
Where tears don’t fall,
And shadows don’t creep,
And time is no silent,
And cunning thief,
Soon I will return to my home,
Where my duties I’ll take up once,
More,
But my heart will remain,
Like a sad refrain,
That forgets what it’s searching for,
