Rose’s mouth does not close. Rose developed a love and compassion for even those who made fun of her. It is hard to be different. And differences come in many ways. God made us all special. Some boys and girls may have a different color skin. Some boys and girls may not think the same or act the same as you. Some may even look different, wearing glasses, special shoes or even being in a wheelchair. However, God loves each and every one of us. It doesn’t matter who we are, HE made us special.

About the Book
A Smile for Rose is the story of a girl born with a facial defect. Rose is unable to close her mouth at all. She was bullied for years by not only her classmates but also by adults, including a teacher.
About the Author
Sharon (Hawk) Potteiger lives in Allentown, Pennsylvania with her husband George, daughter, Rachel and two ‘grandkits,’ Jules and Cleo. Mrs. “P,” as she is known by the students and parents has been involved at Lehigh Christian Academy for almost 40 years spending many of those years as a teacher. She has been the assistant principal for almost 20 years. Sharon has also served on the Board of Directors of Lehigh Valley Christian High School as well as serving on over 20 Accreditation visits for the Association of Christian Schools International and/or the Middle States Commission for Schools and Colleges.
She loves knitting and reading. Her love for the Amish has led her to read many books and take many trips to Lancaster County. Trips to the mountains, the seashore and Florida fill her free time, as well as spending time with her extended family. Her dream vacation is to cruise to Alaska to fulfill the one wish of her parents, who visited all of the 50 states, except Alaska.
