Cautiously the boys approached the front door of the old house. Wiggie ran back and forth looking for small animals to chase.
"Come here Wiggie. You go in first!" Chris called and pointed to the partially open door.
Seeking new territory, she stuck her nose through the opening and disappeared into the house.
"Come on. Let's go in," Jim said as he approached the door then turned to look back and make sure he was not going in alone.
"W - We're coming," Curt said, walking slowly and watching the open door.
"Where is Wiggie?" Jim questioned.
"She went inside. Come on. Lets go in." Chris said as he gently shoved the squeaky door.

About the Book
Chris, Curt, and Jim arrived for their annual farm visit, hoping for adventures at Granddad’s. They listened to stories of local happenings, which included sightings of a mountain lion. After enjoying apple pie, the boys decided to take Wiggie with them and go down the road to investigate their uncle’s abandoned house. They heard sounds in the house that caused them to flee in terror.
About the Author
Sylvia Alderton retains memories and a deep love of her childhood on the small farm in the Midwest. She married her high school sweetheart and had two sons. Her teachers and English professor's encouraged her to pursue writing. After retirement she joined a Writer's guild and wrote poetry, short stories and chapters of a book of her life experiences. She has won awards in poetry and prose contests and published her first children's book "A Real Name For Puppy" in 2006. She currently belongs to Siloam Springs Writer's Guild and is a new member of Arkansas Poetry Round Table. Her writing describes memorable events and fun times in her life.
