This book is a testament of God’s faithfulness. In the midst of very challenging situations, He proved, time and again, that we can hold onto His promises. In his proverbs, King Solomon fitly described the sovereignty of God when he said, “There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the Lord.”
The challenges that the church faced as they pursued their dream to have their own mortgage-free building was insurmountable in the beginning. They needed to go from strength to strength as they conquered each obstacle. Aside from raising the funds needed to pay off the property, they had to go through a re-zoning process, wherein the city came out in full force to block their application. Although they did their homework diligently, they soon realized that “the horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord.”
This book was written to give glory to our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. May the Lord’s name be praised forever!

Pastor Teck is the Senior Pastor of the Friends of Jesus Christ, Canada. Together with his wife, Myra, and six children, Christine, Johannes, Joanne, Joelle, Christephanie and Christabelle, they have faithfully served the Lord since the church’s inception in 1991. He is a grandfather to Ava, Lucas and Charlotte.
