Anaya tried to show the villagers the dance she had been learning from The Music during her sleepless nights but they wouldn’t listen. This saddened Anaya but she knew with all of her heart that there was something more.
The Music was pulling her in. She had to find The Music Maker, if it took all that was in her. Her heart longed to dance a uniquely perfected dance and she knew she couldn’t teach herself the rest of the steps.
By the next morning, she said her goodbyes and was on her way. The villagers watched as she went. With confusion in their hearts, most had a suspicion that maybe she was on to something. The comfort of knowing the steps of their village song kept them each quiet.
As Anaya went on her journey she listened to The Music to lead her in the right direction. She danced as she listened and it began to seem as if she was dancing with the music, instead of dancing to it. It was the most wonderful peace but she still knew that she had the meet The Music Maker.

About the Book
Anaya is a girl from the village of Dry Ground. She hears music that no one else in her village can hear. It gets louder and louder, and she just can’t ignore her need to find the music maker. Even though the other villagers can’t hear what she hears, she knows she must set out on her journey to find where the music is coming from.
About the Author
Sydnie was born in Michigan where she has returned to make home after living in the desert and by the mountains which have inspired her and taught her about God’s love and majesty. She loves sharing her faith through her creativity, especially writing. She is married and has a son who has inspired her to look through a child’s eyes again and see the excitement in the little things.
