Life is a journey that can take us places we never thought of or imagined. Along the way, our journeys can be breathtaking, adventurous, fun, and exciting! Other times, the journey can be full of hardships, heartaches, loneliness, pain, or despair. No matter the hand dealt, we should take our life experiences and learn from them. If you are like me, you have experienced both aspects of the journey. Despite it all, I realized those times of adversity allowed me to process every hurtful emotion with a new understanding. My deep seated wounds penetrated me to my core because I was blind to my own issues. It wasn’t until the Lord exposed the dark secrets in my marriage that my eyes became unglued and my perfect little world came crashing down, leaving me alone to face the things that happened.
Just like me, some people go through life blind to their own issues. Why is that? Could it be many of us walk in a state of denial because we’re not ready to face the truth? Or do we bury our struggles deep down inside of ourselves thinking they will eventually go away? Or are we afraid of what we may discover about ourselves or what others may realize about us if we open up and reveal the darkness inside?
I believe we do it all: deny, lie, hide, and fake it because we know facing the truth or dealing with our own issues can bevery painful. Fortunately, I learned some things about myself and I am grateful to God for allowing me to face the truth and work on my issues. I’m not sure if my “blinders” would have come off if I had not been shattered and broken from the issues in my marriage. Facing the truth about my marital secrets, and having dealt with my pain; helped me to discover God’s purpose and plans for my life. Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT) says, “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
Now, I realize my struggles were designed by God to reshape my life to be more like Christ and to teach me some of life’s most valuable lessons so He could usefor His glory and to further the Kingdom! Life is truly a journey, be it good, bad, or indifferent. How awesome of a journey it can be when we take our life experiences and use them to help bring joy, peace, and hope into the lives of those around us!
I am going to share with you how The Power of Forgiveness broke the chains that held me captive for so many years. It is my prayer that as you walk with me through this book, you discover some things about yourself and perhaps receive your breakthrough and healing.
I’m not a clinical expert, by any means, on forgiveness but I am a willing vessel of the Most High God who is attempting to shed some light on how the power of forgiveness changed the very course of my life and marriage. I was headed down a slippery slope because I had allowed bitterness and resentment to take root in my heart. The same thing can happen to you if you harbor unforgiveness in your heart, or if you don’t know what to do, and how to deal with your hurt and pain. Most people turn to short-term energy relieving behaviors such as sex, alcohol, food, or drugs. You name it, some people will do just about anything to try and bury their pain in order to escape reality, even if, for a brief moment. I call that behavior the cover up because the focus is to make the pain go away.
If you are tired of being in that place of hurt, bitterness, loneliness, pain, or despair, then learn and release The Power of Forgiveness. Let forgiveness live in your heart and experience the first step in your healing. The Power of Forgiveness is truly life changing! It will remove your blinders and open upyour heart to receive God’s love and His blessings for your life.

About the Author
Sandra is a visionary, forward leader. She is a powerful, thought provoking author, coach, motivational/inspirational speaker, and spiritual guidance advisor. She is certified in Caring for People God’s Way and Relationship Coaching through American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) Light University. She is also a certified Prepare/Enrichment Relationship Facilitator and Small Group Facilitator. Sandra works with her husband as pre-marital mentors, and couples whose marriages are in need of healing.
Sandra is the founder and president of Speak Life Ministries which helps to empower women in need of healing and help them reach their God ordained purpose through the power of the Holy Spirit. Sandra is also a co-founder of Akron Summit Scribes Faith Based Writer’s Club. She joined forces with her two business partners in 2017 to establish the writer’s club that was God inspired, charging them to serve as spiritual midwives helping others birth forth their writing gifts from concept to market place delivery.
Sandra Heard fell in love with the art of writing and storytelling on her road to healing. She was led to journal her pain, heartache, and despair not realizing that God was setting her up for something greater. Sandra was charged by the Lord in July 2008 to write her message to the masses on the Power of Forgiveness. In her God Inspired book, Sandra shares powerful insight that everyone should embrace about the power of forgiveness starting with understanding forgiveness and ending in healing and restoration. She shows the reader how to travel the road to healing through faith, prayer and self-examination. Sandra believes The Power of Forgiveness is life changing and the first step toward healing. Sandra Heard is married to her best friend James and is a mother of three and has three grandchildren. She is a Licensed Minister at the Forgiving Church in Northeast Ohio, where she serves in many capacities. She is a humble servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! She is passionate about sharing the Gospel and the good news that Jesus Christ lives; she desires to bring healing to the wounded souls and broken hearted.
Professionally, Sandra is a career Internal Auditor with over 25 years of experience. She is also a Visiting Professor and part-time Instructor at two universities, where she primarily teaches undergraduate accounting and business courses. She loves to empower her students in all walks of life and serves as a Mentor to some. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from DeVry University Keller Graduate School of Management (Independence Ohio) and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Cleveland State University (Cleveland, Ohio). She is a Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA) and holds professional memberships with the Institute of Internal Auditors, The Institute for Internal Controls, and American Association of Christian Counseling.
