True Love Conquers the Enemy

Father God, allow my eyes to be opened to the magnitude of what You sacrificed for me so I could be saved from the punishment of my sin forever! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Could there have been another way to rescue mankind? Read below and find out.

The Bird Man

There was a man who wanted to help some birds who kept flying into his house. The birds were being killed by flying into his windows, but no matter what he did to assist them, the birds were more afraid of him every time he tried to rescue them. He told a friend, “If only I could become a bird, then I could communicate to them that I care and I am trying to help them. Then they would not be afraid of me, and I could save their lives.” His friend replied to this man who did not yet believe in Jesus, “That is why Jesus became a man, so He could reveal His love to you in a way you could understand. Then you could know that He loves you and could save your life forever if you believe in Him.” The man finally understood. The best way to rescue the birds was to become a bird. The best way to rescue mankind was to become a man.⁵ Jesus did for me what I could not do for myself. There was no other way. Now that we know who Jesus is, what did Jesus do for you that is so important?

Believe What Jesus Christ Did

Read John 14:6. Is there any other way to get to God the Father? ______ How do we get to God the Father? _________________________________ The only way to get to God the Father is through Jesus. John 10:10bsays, “I am come that they may have life and have it more abundantly.” John 10:9 says, “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” There is only one door, one way, and it is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is our mediator. (Read 1 Timothy 2:5).

Have you ever known the son of the president or king of a country? You cannot just walk right up to a president or king of any country unless you are on staff or have a high position of authority. But if you are friends with the child of a president or king, then that child can get you the permission to enter. Jesus is not only your mediator; He is your friend (John 15:13-14), and you can be adopted as His child (John 1:12), so when you know Jesus, you know the Father God. If we say that Jesus is the only way to be saved from our sins, then some people may say that we are narrow minded. Jesus would agree (Matthew 7:13-14). But the truth is that Jesus is the only way; our only door to God.

Rescued from Death

Have you ever been in a position to rescue a friend from death? A man rescued me from drowning in a very rough river a long time ago. We were whitewater rafting, and our boat became caught in a strong current, so we were stuck. The weight of the passengers and the current together started pulling us down until I was even with the water. I was about to go under the churning, rough water with no way to pull myself back up. But thankfully, just in time, a man’s hand reached down and pulled me up. I was so thankful to him for saving my life! I was totally at his mercy. There was no other way for me to be saved. I could have argued with this man that I did not want to be rescued that way. I could have said, “This is too embarrassing; I will get out of this predicament myself another way.” But that would have been foolish. Thank God He provided the way to saving my life. There is only one way to save your life from the punishment for sin and only one way to the One and only true God.

Every human being on earth was in the position of being without strength, ungodly, still a sinner and God’s enemy because of sin. But He still loves you and all people.

Wrath is God’s anger against iniquity which is punishment in hell, but He loves you. (e) He brought
