Lord I feel trapped.
Holy and Merciful God, many a day when I look at my circumstances I feel so trapped like a bird in a cage. In my heart I sense a great desire to be free and to fly above my circumstances that entrap me, but I just cannot get to that point. Lord, I know this earth is not my permanent home, but I must be here until You call me home. My desire for freedom is something good Lord I just don't know how to find it.
"Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free." Psalm 118:5 ESV
"So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:36 NASB
My Savior Jesus, what a great liberation this promise brings to my soul! You are my freedom! No matter where I am or what I am doing, I am free. Free from sin, free from any reproach the enemy might point out- Free- really free!! Even if I were to find myself imprisoned by walls humanity has built, as long as I have You, I have freedom. What you offer is not limited to the physical realm but so much more!
"But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31NLT
My souls rejoices in this promise my Father! My heart thirsts for such freedom that comes from trusting You. My mind will purposefully ponder this and my heart will receive it and be satisfied!
Thank you Father God, thank you Lord Jesus for giving and teaching me Your promises through the power of the Precious Holy Spirit that is at work in me!

About the Book
This book came to be through listening to the emotional struggles of many Christians seeking a more intimate walk with their Savior yet feeling trapped by their own emotions. Most Christians possess enough head knowledge of God's goodness and love for them, but have yet to possess a personal experience of it at the heart level. This devotional prayer journal is designed for deep, honest reflection of one's own emotions, repentance of the lie behind the emotion and embracing Christ's transforming Truth. The reader might be led to spend weeks on one topic and wrestle with it until God's truth penetrates that area. Other topics one might spend just long enough to connect with the truth revealed in God's promises and, perhaps, to encourage someone else with it.
About the Author
Elena lives in DeWitt, Michigan with her husband, Mark. She has one daughter, Stephanie, and a son-in-law, Casey. As a native Romanian, Elena escaped from communism as a teenager with her brother. She left her family, friends and everything she knew in pursuit of freedom. From her early teen years, her life displayed courage and perseverance when all odds seemed against her. In the last decade, her life has become a relentless pursuit of intimacy with Christ. From a small village in the mountains of Romania, the streets of Madrid, and the worldly glamour of Los Angeles, Elena settled in Mid-Michigan where she enjoyed a 10-year career as an Investment Advisor. Sensing a call out of the business world and into full-time ministry, Elena decided to spend her life encouraging women through their walk of faith, pointing them to Christ, the True source of fulfillment and freedom for every area of life: marriage, career and discovering one’s purpose. Her interests are Biblical Studies with an outrageous passion for a life lived as a true disciple of Jesus. Her life verse is from John 14:6, Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
