A Nation Gone Under

The socialist policies of Democratic administrations during the 20th century brought about major changes to the Constitutionally limited form of government created by America's founders. Perhaps even more significantly, is the role such policies played in setting the stage for the types of Communist policies that would come about in the future. After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, most of America erroneously believed Communism was dead and no longer a threat. Communism became an afterthought in the minds of most Americans as they went about their lives enjoying a robust economy, which began during the later part of the Reagan administration and carried on throughout the 90's. However, the Communist movement in America never died and its members never conceded defeat. Instead they simply retreated into the shadows where they reassessed their approach to takeover America. They abandoned the old idea of taking over America by means of an armed revolution, and pivoted to a new idea of bringing down America from within. The new strategy consisted of infiltrating every facet of American society and acquiring positions of influence and power in order to fracture the system from the inside. They planned to incrementally bring about changes to the American way of life so slowly that most Americans would not realize the changes until it was too late. During his Lyceum Address in 1838, Abraham Lincoln warned of such danger from within. “At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide” said Lincoln. The following is an analysis of how successful the Communist movement has been regarding its ultimate goal to take over America.
