About the Book
It came about when a young missionary came to preach, and there was the realization to the author that the preacher and his family may face martyrdom. The question asked: “Lord, why didn’t you give us some guidelines!” The prayer answered: “A slap in the face by the Word of God by a simple list of fifty items.”
About the Author
The author is the outcome of a student named Joe from Multnomah Bible College in 1961 for salvation and a product of the youth group at Gateway Baptist Church of Portland Oregon (1959–1962). After serving in the air force, he was invited to a new one-year-old college by Pastor Ted Hicks called the Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College of Diamond Bar, California. Upon graduation, he moved to Portland, Oregon, and served as schoolteacher and assistant pastor but has mainly been an organist and deacon from 1978 to present at Town Center Baptist Church. Upon retirement from being a store manager for over twenty years because of cancer, he found himself in a place which he calls “a time of obedience and privilege to study the Bible and leave a record for his grandchildren.”
