Isabel put the stew on the stove, stoked the fire and decided to work on her quilt. When she walked into the room she saw the package and the mail. She’d completely forgot about them this morning. She threw some logs on the fire and sat down. Picking up the mail she saw a letter. She had no idea who it was from, but the handwriting looked vaguely familiar. She opened the letter and began to read:
“Dearest Sister,
I hope this letter finds you well. I’m sorry I haven’t been in touch before now. I’ve missed you, missed having our talks, you were my best friend. There’s been no one I could trust, like I trusted you. I’m so sorry about all that happened before you left. I know I wasn’t being a good friend or sister. If I would have taken the time to listen, I would have known the truth, all of it. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me one day. I’ve accepted God into my life and he’s shown me where I was wrong. I need to fix things between us, I shouldn’t have listened to others and believed them before you, I’m sorry. It took me a long time to find you, you’ve kept yourself hid well. I hope you’ll write back and keep in touch, I want my sister back. I have to go now, but I’ll write again. I’ll be watching with excitement for your letter. Love always,

P.S. I hope you’ll be able to forgive me for what I’ve done, he had a right to know. Isabel sat in silence, she couldn’t believe her sister had written her. She hadn’t heard from Patience since the night she’d left. She wouldn’t listen, she believed what the others were telling her. She didn’t want anything to do with Isabel anymore. Patience told her to leave and never contact her again, her own sister. Not only had she turned her back on Isabel, the rest of the family did too.

About the Author
Rochelle King is a stay at home, homeschool mom of two teenage children. Happily married to her husband for 20 years. She loves to write many nights till very early in the morning, but always putting her family first, only behind God and the church, where she has been a faithful member. It’s not always easy being a preacher’s wife but she has always balanced all she does. Always putting other people’s needs in front of her own and never a bad word to say. She loves to cook and bake, as well as working with her crocheting and many other talents. She is currently living with her husband and children in North Carolina, continuing to write and balancing her life, she is a wonderful mother, wife and witness for our God.
