A World Apart

When Anne met Bill, both American college students in France, it was love at first sight.

Married shortly after graduation from college, they remained there, as they were happy living close to family, as well as able to enter their chosen careers at once.

Their Utopian twenty-year marriage, enhanced by mutual love for their two teen-aged daughters, ended suddenly when tragedy took Bill away. Devastated by her loss and challenged by decisions and adjustments that had to be made, Anne’s natural resourcefulness, together with her indomitable faith in God brought her through and gave her acceptance.

An attractive woman, in her fifties, with an outgoing personality, had many friends, However, even after three years without Bill, there was no interest in dating . She was sure she would never love anyone else.

While sailing to the United States, with her daughter, she had met a handsome retired ,newspaperman from Missouri. There was obvious mutual attraction as their friendship had continued.

Contentment in her personal life increased as she began accepting social invitations. A very attractive surgeon had more than a little interest in her. She considered herself happy again until a serious personal tragedy took away much more than a little confidence.

A light in the tunnel of darkness in the form of a familiar face gave her hope. Would she ever really be whole again and find her way back ?
