GOD HAS A PLAN WHICH LEADS TO VICTORY.
God has a plan for you and me
That always leads to victory,
If we would hear what He would say,
And stop to let Him have His way.
The way He leads at times is tough,
The path is steep and the going rough.
And though at times His face He’ll hide,
His promise is, He’s at our side.
When in waters deep we are going down
He will lift us up so we do not drown.
Even if the river’s very wide,
He brings us safe to the other side.
In times of affliction’s searing heat,
Where paths we tread would burn our feet!
His promise is we won’t be burnt,
But the power of His presence will be learnt.
Why does the God who has this plan
Allow such suffering at the hand of man?
He sees what happens, He knows their sin,
But through it makes us rely on Him!
For a diamond to sparkle it must be cut,
To get to the kernel you must crack the nut!
To purify gold you apply great heat,
And for strength in steel with a hammer you beat!
The lesson is simple we need to learn
God allows such suffering to make us turn,
And in our struggles to trust in Him,
To overcome by faith that we may win.

About the Book
This book is a collection of poems written over a three-year period of imprisonment for crimes he had not committed. They reflect the emotional roller-coaster ride of a person suffering a miscarriage of justice but at the same time recording the faithfulness of God in speaking words of comfort, encouragement, and reassurance through the darkest days, proving the truth of 1 Corinthians 10:13. God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. Drawing on examples from the Bible, they demonstrate the truth that no matter how desperate our situation may be, the words of Jesus remain true: “I will not abandon you or leave you as orphans in the storm—I will come to you” (John 14:18, TLB).
About the Author
The author has been a committed Christian and active member of the same church for forty-one years; he was a youth leader, a deacon, then an elder, and a pastor. He was a lay preacher and a director of a successful company. Through the prison fellowship in New Zealand, he wrote and recorded Bible teaching tapes for prisoners, some of which were also broadcast.
