May 1st, 2013 was like every other morning, except in two more days we will go on a special trip to the beach for Abigail’s birthday. She was the oldest of all our children and my husband thought it will be fun for the family to do a pre-celebration at the beach house we rented. We even invited one of her friends to join us on the trip. Everyone was on high spirits, especially Abigail. I wasn’t feeling well, because it was my eighth month of pregnancy with Legend. I got the kids up to get them started on their morning routine. I came back to my room to get ready, but my husband gets up out of nowhere and tells me to rest. I was super surprised, because it was my turn to take the kids to school. Johnny usually doesn’t just pass up his sleep-in days, but he was energetic and wanted to take the kids. I asked, “Are you sure?” He said, “Yes baby, I got this.” So I jumped back in my bed. Abigail and Elias got dressed made breakfast for themselves and Zoei. Johnny was ready to leave with the kids and head to work. When they were walking out the door they called me to watch Zoei and lock the door. I still remember clearly as if it was yesterday, I saw everyone get in the car and I stared at Abigail as she got in the car until they drove off. I remember thinking, my goodness she is so beautiful. I am so proud of her.

About the Book
On May 1, 2013, I got the call that every mother dreads ... my family was in a terrible car accident. As the day unfolds, I would say my final good-bye to my eldest daughter. My husband would become paralyzed from the neck down and near death several times. Lastly, just ten days later, I gave birth five weeks early to my fourth child. This would put my faith to the test. But, by God’s grace and support of my spiritual family, I found the beauty in the storm.
About the Author
Ivette Vasquez has experienced a series of life’s challenging events. In a matter of weeks, her daughter passed away, her husband became a quadriplegic, she gave birth five weeks early while planning her daughter’s funeral, and having to care for her other two children. Her Christian faith, family, and spiritual family saw her through it all. Ivette lives with her husband Johnny of twenty-years in South Louisiana. Together they have four beautiful children, one of which is in heaven. Her mission in life is to inspire women to never give up.
