Isn’t it fantastic that we can get saved and become Children of the Most High God without knowing all the technical or spiritual answers in his Word? When you study the Bible you will receive wonderful promises from God and spiritual revelation knowledge because his Word is alive, powerful, and super-naturally natural. Jesus is the Word in John 1:1, and verse 14.
"For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires." (Hebrews 4:12 New Living Translation)
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (Second Timothy 2:15 King James Version)
The Word tells us God’s people are destroyed because of a lack of knowledge. Christians are destroyed because they lack biblical knowledge on how to live the abundant life that Jesus came to give us, and how to stop attacks from the Devil; Hosea 4:6. How to stop the Devil's attacks can be found in the section; WHEN BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE.
You will not receive enough knowledge by listening to a sermon once a week and letting your Clergyman do your entire Bible reading for you. Please read the Bible for your self. The more you read and grow as a Christian the more you will understand God’s Word. Your spirit will begin to bear witness to the truth of the Word and its spiritual meaning; then you will be able to recognize it when you are not hearing the true Word of God.
If you have a difficult time understanding the King James Version of the Bible that uses Old English words like thee, thou, and ye instead of you, then please look up the scriptures in a version that uses more modern language. A multiple-translation Bible can be used for a clearer understanding of some scriptures; a Greek dictionary of the New Testament and a Hebrew dictionary of the Old Testament also can be helpful. My most valuable help in studying the Bible and understanding it has been the Holy Spirit—and then an exhaustive concordance! Let the Word drop into your spirit and come alive. We need to study God’s Word, not read it like a newspaper. Some people who read the Bible as a literary document never receive salvation or knowledge from spiritual revelation.
WHY DID JESUS GIVE HIS LIFE, DYING A BLOODY DEATH? WHY THE BLOOD?
It is scary how many churches are removing the blood of Jesus from their songs and sermons! Don’t they realize Jesus’s blood and his resurrection is the very core of salvation, the Alpha and Omega of Christianity? Satan has blinded them to the truth and the power of God that saves us from eternal damnation. How can we ever thank Jesus enough for all the suffering he went through while giving his life’s blood to redeem us from sin? Thank you, Jesus, for becoming the sacrificial lamb that did away with the old covenant’s system of atonement through the blood of animals.
“For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul” (Leviticus 17:11 NKJV).
“And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission” (Hebrews 9:22 NKJV).
Notice in the Old Testament it says atonement, but in the New Testament it’s remission. Before Jesus did away with the old covenant where the blood of animals was used to cover the sins of the people, it was atonement. Here’s an example of atonement: you have an old rug full of filth and stains (sin). You don’t remove it but cover it up with a new rug. The stains are still there but covered up.
Redemption is like this: the old carpet is completely removed and thrown away, forever gone and forgotten, just as if the filthy thing was never there. A new carpet now exists. Jesus’s blood redeems us from sin. When we make him Lord of our lives, we become brand new, as if we had never sinned. Sure, we may think of that old filth, but God has forgotten it forever; he looks at us through the blood of Jesus.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV). Please keep in mind the real you is a spirit living in a body; it is your spirit that becomes a new creation, although living a holy life does make wonderful physical changes.
