Poem: -As I AM-

You know Me as Yahweh, Jehovah Jira,

The Great I AM

But I want you to pursue Me

Get to know Me as I AM

Seek and you will find

And as I pour into you,

Your heart will gradually become Mine

And you will find, all you seek

For all you seek is found in Me

All abounds in Me

My hand was the brush,

My canvas all that you see

And with loving kindness,

I drew you to be

Then I won you back,

Devotional:

A lot of people have opinions about God. Many talk about Him and think they know Him, simply because they have heard so much about Him. However, consider famous movie stars. We see them everywhere. We hear about their likes and dislikes, and hear about their personal problems. We feel like we know them right? But, I’m sure if actually spent time with them, we would know them in a way we never could through the T.V. or a magazine. Suddenly our knowledge about them wouldn’t simply hang on a bunch of facts, but a slew of personal experiences and encounters.

In like manner, we are invited to encounter our Father. Many people claim to know Him after a good word or a devotional. However, until we encounter Him personally, we cannot truly say we know Him. James 4:8 says that we are to draw close to God and in return, He will draw close to us. He desires intimacy with us, but He wants us to desire Him as well. When we grow to know Him intimately, we can grow to know His heart. His desires will then become ours. The struggle of trying to guess what He would do in a situation will cease. We can simply ask Him, and trust Him to provide us with the wisdom we need. Will you join me on this journey as we dive deeper into His heart? Let our knowledge of Him not consist of mere facts. Instead, let us discover His heart through intimate encounters.
