Blood Money

Hebrews 8:6

(6) But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the MEDIATOR OF A BETTER COVENANT, which was established upon BETTER PROMISES.

As a child of God, you are in a covenant with God through the blood of Jesus. Not only are we in a New Covenant, this covenant is better and improved. Look at the lives of those under the Old Covenant and you will have a picture of what the better one is. If you read the book of Deuteronomy 28, you will see that the promises under the Old Covenant included deliverance, protection, preservation, healing, promotion and wealth. What makes this new covenant better is that it has everything in a better measure and much more, our spirits have been made alive; we are born again!

Hebrews 8:6 (AMP)

(6) “But as it now is, he [Christ] has acquired a [priestly] ministry which is as much superior and more excellent [than the old] as the covenant (the agreement) OF WHICH HE IS THE MEDIATOR (THE ARBITER, AGENT) IS SUPERIOR AND MORE EXCELLENT, [because] it is enacted and rests upon more important (sublimer, higher, and nobler) promises,”

This covenant is not just based on better promises it has a better administrator. In the Old Covenant, they had an earthly administrator in the person of an earthly high priest who sometimes even fell short of the demands of the covenant, but in this New Covenant, Jesus is the mediator. A mediator is a negotiator who acts as a link between parties. As an arbiter, a mediator settles every dispute and divides the inheritance. Jesus is the one who acts and speaks on behalf of the new creation today. He is the One who speaks for you and me and He does that through His blood. The bible says in Hebrews 12:22-25

Hebrews 12:22-25

(22) But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

(23) To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

(24) AND TO JESUS THE MEDIATOR OF THE NEW COVENANT, and to the blood of sprinkling, THAT SPEAKETH BETTER THINGS THAN THAT OF ABEL.

(25) See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:

Blood has a voice and Jesus’ blood speaks better things. It speaks the message of grace, forgiveness and pardon; it also speaks the message of the Blessing. Unlike the blood of Abel that kept asking for vengeance, Jesus’ blood speaks forgiveness and the Blessing.

The person that mediates between you and God today is Jesus.

The Amplified Translation says

Hebrews 12:24 (AMP) (24) And to Jesus, the Mediator (GO-BETWEEN, AGENT) of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled BLOOD WHICH SPEAKS [OF MERCY], a better and nobler and more gracious message than the blood of Abel [which cried out for vengeance].

Jesus is our go-between and agent. His blood speaks for a reason. It speaks mercy so that we can be who God wants us to be (Romans 5:1-2). God made us extremely rich, but through sin the devil stole our right to our wealth. Jesus, through His blood, speaks mercy so that we can enjoy all the things that are ours. This is why the Old Covenant had a mercy seat (Hebrews 9:5). Our own Mercy Seat today is in the heavens and our High Priest is Jesus Himself. His blood hushes the negative voice of the devil against us.

We know that though Jesus died over 2000 years ago, his blood is still before the presence of the Father speaking that the sins of men have been forgiven through His sacrificial work on the cross. We know that the blood speaks before God that healing has come. Based on these truths and understanding, we preach forgiveness of sins to people so they can receive salvation and we preach healing for the body so that men can receive their healing, but we hardly ever talk or preach about our material and physical needs being met as a result of the blood speaking before the Father. This is because the devil has told us a lie that God doesn’t want us to prosper! Since we do not know this, we always resort to what our natural means can give to us. Child of God, I want you to know that the blood also speaks of our physical and material things and it still speaks today! The blood is saying before the Father, “Arome has the right to that money!” Glory!

There is redemption in the blood which includes money and wealth!

In the blood of Jesus we have redemption (Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14; Hebrews 9:12). Redemption means ransom. It means payment for the release of someone or something. Jesus’ death didn’t just redeem you, it redeemed the earth. It took the earth back from the devil’s authority and gave it back to you. No wonder Paul said, “Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours; whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or THE WORLD, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours; and ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.” (1 Corinthians 3:21-23)
