Waiting...waiting...sporadically glancing from underneath my favorite blue and green flannel sheets with hopes of hearing my parents stir in the hallway. I was becoming anxious as a glimpse of sun peeked through the frosted glass and my storm-cloud gray curtains. Surely it has been over 20 hours, as I exaggerated to myself. At any moment, I was expecting to hear the squeak sounds from my parent's door to the several low thuds of the large bags filled with presents echoing down the stairs. Finally! Christmas morning was here!

About the Book
The Gifts of Christmas is about a little girl who fell in love with winter and the holiday that surrounds it. She goes into great detail of what it felt like to wake up to Christmas morning being surrounded by her big family, and later making snowmen with her siblings. This story uses excellent descriptors which allow the reader to truly feel apart of the scenes. It also depicts a family who love each other and who were best of friends during their childhood.
